Jill McKenzie Burr, Founder and President of Bamboo Eco Resort & Spa, Inc., lives and works in Malibu, California with her husband and business partner, James Burr. She is a sustainable development expert and an environmental entrepreneur specializing in green business development and socially responsible business practices. She has an extensive background in natural health and wellness, with more than 15 years experience in the Natural Products Industry. Jill is the Co-Founder and Director of Business Development for Malibu Solar, a renewable energy company specializing in and consulting on commercial and residential solar projects in Southern California. Jill has played a major role in the advancement of Bamboo Eco Resort from an inspired vision to a viable development plan. She is committed to project planning, partnership development, and capitalization strategies. Jill holds a Bachelor of Science from Georgia State University. |
| James and Jill have 15 years experience traveling and conducting business in Jamaica. In 1993 they moved to Jamaica to explore island culture and natural living. They discovered the island to be rich in natural abundance, yet vitally in need of sustainable development. In 1994 they founded Alternative Import & Export, Jamaica’s first industrial hemp company. James and Jill worked closely with the Jamaican Government to launch an Industrial Hemp Initiative, with Jamaica’s Prime Minister, the Hon. PJ Patterson approving $JA30M for industrial hemp trials to be conducted at the Ministry of Agriculture’s Research Facility. In 2003 James and Jill founded the Jamaica Community Ecological Learning Center (JaCELC), a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization with the mission to assist rural Jamaican communities in protecting local ecosystems by fostering community education and enrichment programs. |

Douglas P. Murphy, Co-Founder of Bamboo Eco Resort & Spa, Inc., lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Douglas is a recognized business leader. He is the Founder and President of Branded Camp Services (BCS) and Co-Founder and former President of American Computer Experience (ACE). He is an innovator in the creation of educational summer programs for teens and youth across the country. Doug’s strengths include business development, strategic planning, and raising capital. Doug is helping to shape the way Bamboo Eco Resort raises funding, focusing on corporate development, legal matters, and operational management. He holds his B.A. in Spanish from Middlebury College. |
